Kentucky’s Ray Davis may not have Corum’s resume, but he might be just as effective in the NFL. Across his collegiate career, Davis has been an absolute chore for defenders, averaging 3.39 yards after contact and forcing 187 missed tackles per PFF.

Like Corum, Davis is not an overwhelming athlete, though his burst is better than his offseason testing might indicate. He is also a very capable receiver though he struggles in pass protection and can be overmatched by blitzers. These issues will likely cause Davis to slip until late in the third round if not to Day 3 of the draft.

Davis has an existing connection to the Bucs, as new Bucs offensive coordinator Liam Coen was Kentucky’s offensive coordinator last season. While this does not guarantee Davis will play in red and pewter next year, it does give the Bucs more intel heading into the draft and Davis a potential advocate in the war room.
