Powerball jackpot climbs to $760 million, would be tied for sixth-biggest win in lottery's history

After Wednesday’s drawing failed to produce a winner, the Powerball jackpot rose to an estimated $760 million, which would be tied for the sixth-largest prize in the lottery’s history if won.

The winning Powerball numbers on Wednesday were, in order, 4, 11, 38, 51, 68 and a red Powerball 5. The jackpot for Wednesday was $700 million.

At $760 million, the current jackpot would be tied with a prize won on Dec. 30, 2019, according to a news release from the lottery.

Among the 2023 jackpots won, it would be the third-largest, behind only a pair of jackpots worth more than $1 billion won in California in July and October. Wednesday’s drawing was the 32nd one held without a grand prize winner since that October drawing.

If a winning ticket is bought for Saturday’s drawing, the lucky player will be able to choose between a lump sum of $382.5 million or a smaller immediate sum followed by 29 annual payments, each 5% larger than the last.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia. The lottery is unavailable in Alabama, Nevada, Utah, Hawaii and Alaska.
