OPINION:
I feel that I must point out the obvious: You cannot negotiate with terrorists (“Israel says Hamas violating cease-fire by attacking IDF troops in Gaza,” web, Nov. 28).
Almost everyone knows this. Rewarding horrific behavior simply invites more horrific behavior. The temporary relief that comes with this extended cease-fire will be costly.
President Biden needed a face-saving offramp from the monumental public pressure. Supporting a cease-fire between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas is a seemingly compassionate act that gives him a sorely needed political win. How many lives will inevitably be lost because of this foolish strategy? Giving in to these monsters bolsters their organization and makes them stronger.
We had a cease-fire until Oct. 7. Hamas broke it and committed some of the most heinous acts ever imagined. There has been adulation for these terrorists and relatively little condemnation from the international media.
So far, It looks like evil has been the victor here. More hostages will be taken and more capitulation will be afforded to anyone who wishes to stick their finger in the eye of the Western world. We are being played by some of the most despicable characters who ever walked the face of the earth.
