Letter to the editor: If you don't like it, leave

I came to the U.S. in 1951, at the age of 9, as a legal immigrant. My family came here to escape the horrors of World War II in Europe and because we believed the United States of America to be the greatest country in the world.

Now, at the age of 81, I am horrified at what people are trying to do to our beautiful nation.

First, let me say that I am truly not a prejudiced individual. But I must address the current unrest among the Muslim population in this country. Why did you or your ancestors come here? Was it not because things are better in the U.S. than wherever you or your ancestors came from? If that is the case, stop trying to tell our government how to help our Israeli allies.

Certainly, Hamas and the other terror organizations that call themselves Muslims have never been our friends. Iran backs most, if not all, of these Islamist terrorists. Yet our current president does not have the guts to stand up to them.

If you live in the United States and don’t like it here, don’t try to change it — just go to one of those other countries where you think things are so much better. As for you college and university professors, stop corrupting our children’s minds with your ridiculous liberal propaganda. If you believe there is a better place to live, go there and see if you can earn the kind of money you are currently getting paid.
