Ke’Shawn Vaughn has unexcused absence at Wednesday practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn was not at practice on Wednesday in Tampa, Florida, but it seems as if he was supposed to be.

Heach coach Todd Bowles spoke to reporters on Wednesday after practice and was asked about Vaughn, who wasn’t there. Bowles said that Vaughn was dealing with a personal issue, but made it clear that his absence was not excused — meaning he was supposed to show up at practice, but did not.

Vaughn will seemingly serve as the team’s RB4 behind Chase Edmonds, Sean Tucker and Rachaad White. He had lots of work in the preseason, but has been unable to get frequent playing time during the regular season during his time with the Buccaneers. Only 48 players can dress on gameday, so it’s possible that Vaughn could be a healthy scratch should the team decide to dress only three running backs during the 2023 season.

Bowles said that the team will see where Vaughn is at on Thursday and then go from there.
