Bucs open as 2.5-point home underdogs against Eagles

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will get the benefit of hosting a playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but bettors aren’t convinced that it will help Tampa Bay all that much.

The Bucs are set to play the Eagles in Raymond James Stadium, but despite that, Tampa Bay opened as 2.5-point underdogs to Philadelphia according to BetMGM. The Eagles are also favored on the moneyline at -155 and the over/under is currently set at 44.

The Bucs have been an up-and-down team all year, but the Eagles have been decidedly down all season. As it stands, they have the 31st-ranked passing defense in the NFL and are 30th in points per game, so they certainly have weakness the Bucs can exploit. The Eagles have lost five of their last six games and went from 10-1 to 11-6 to end the year, most recently getting blown out by the New York Giants 27-10. As such, this was a favorable draw for the Bucs, but Tampa Bay will have to deliver after defeating the 2-14 Carolina Panthers 9-0 in Week 18.

This will be the second time these two teams have met this season. The first time occurred on Monday Night Football in Week 3, where the Eagles bested the Bucs 25-11.
