Who is the most underrated draft pick in Bucs history?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been fortunate enough to find many diamonds in the rough in the NFL draft over the years, including some of the most iconic and legendary players in franchise history.

While the Bucs have also landed cornerstone players with their top picks in the first round, they’ve also had a knack for finding impact players in the middle and later rounds, getting incredible value for non-premium selections.

But who is the most underrated draft pick in Bucs history?

William Gholston.

4th round pick. 10 years of service. An important veteran presence on some really good defenses. He’s never mentioned as such, but there’s a reason he’s stuck around despite so many coaching changes. (Schiano. Lovie. Dirk. Bruce/Bowles.)

Depends how you measure it I guess. Guys who most overperformed their draft expectations – Lynch and Ronde as a 3rd rounders to HOF, Marpet as a 2nd but a D-III guy, Ahanotu was really good for a 6th.

Tough not to think of value as under rated. So if I stick to under rated Gholston needs love. But I go to Ali Marpet. Part of a culture change and win a chip. Gholston was a part of the same thing but somehow I ve always expected Tampa defenses to be good.

Ronde even tho Bucs fans know how good he is most other fan bases don’t he still leads the nfl for cbs with most tackles tfl sacks ff fr qb hits passes defended and most defensive tds for any player and most starts in a row for a db as well as the only one to have 45+int 25+sacks

Lavonte David – I think a hall of famer but does not get the national respect I think he deserves. It seems to have been better since he got the SB win but overall I think very underrated.

Godwin in the 3rd, Whitehead in the 4th or Gholston in the 4th as well could all be debated with recency bias. Can we also talk about how 2019 may be on of the best draft classes I’ve seen from a 1 year production point
