With a Kansas City Chiefs victory in Super Bowl LVIII, the league year is officially over — and it isn’t that far from resetting.
The new league year for the 2024 season will begin on March 13, and with it, a new opportunity for all 32 squads to sign free agents, add in the draft and manage their roster in hopes of winning a Super Bowl. As such, Super Bowl odds for the 2024 season have been released via BetMGM, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fall toward the back of the pack.
Tampa Bay’s opening odds are set at +6600, odds they share with division rival New Orleans Saints. There are 20 other teams ahead of them in odds, making them tied for 21st with the Saints. Interestingly enough, the Atlanta Falcons have higher odds here than the Bucs and the Saints despite finishing lower than them in the 2023 division standings.
The Bucs were one of the NFL’s final eight teams in 2023 after a Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles, but there’s work to do to get back there. Retaining free agents in Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans and Antoine Winfield Jr. will be crucial, among others, and the team will also need to shore up some of the weaknesses in their roster before making another run.
