Ray J requests joint custody of his and Princess Love’s two kids after fourth divorce filing

Ray J has responded to Princess Love’s divorce filing by requesting joint custody of the pair’s two children.

In court documents obtained by People, the “Sexy Can I” hitmaker is asking the court for joint legal and physical custody of daughter Melody, 5, and son Epik, 4, following the pair’s fourth divorce filing.

The singer, 43, is also requesting that several of his and Love’s assets be split, such as “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects.”

The “Another Day in Paradise” crooner, who is being represented by celeb-favorite legal powerhouse Laura Wasser, asked the court that he and his ex pay their own attorney fees.

He also asked for spousal support to his soon-to-be ex-wife be determined at a later date.

The actress, 39, filed for divorce from the “One Wish” hitmaker in in February after nearly eight years of marriage.

The couple’s split is their fourth divorce attempt since May 2020 as they’ve continuously dismissed their previous requests while working through their differences.

Hours after filing the papers, Love opened up about the breakup on Instagram, admitting it’s in their “best interest” to go their separate ways.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce,” she wrote. “After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged.”

She continued, “We want to reassure you that this decision was made thoughtfully and with mutual respect and consideration for each other’s well-being.”

The “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star further said that while their “relationships as spouses may be coming to an end, [they] remain committed to co-parenting.”

“Though this chapter of our lives may be closing, we look forward to embracing the opportunities for growth, healing, and new beginnings that lie ahead,” she added.

Love, who wed the singer in August 2016, first filed for divorce from her husband in May 2020 alleging he stranded her and their daughter in Las Vegas while he went to a strip club.

However, Ray denied these claims, claiming his now-ex was left in the hotel room.

Two months later, she dismissed the case, but the singer soon filed for divorce instead in September of that year.

The pair had even tried their hand at counseling, but the singer claimed it was always “one-sided.”

They called off that split in March 2021 before Ray filed for the third time in October 2021 — they eventually reconciled two years later.
