Pulse-pounding footage captured a near-death experience at an Indian train station when a mother and her two young kids fell on the tracks during the commuter rush.
A woman and her two kids tumbled from a crowded platform onto the tracks Saturday as commuters jostled to board a train at the Barh railway station in the state of Bihar, according to Central European News.
Crew members were unaware of the potentially catastrophic situation.
They departed even though the woman’s head was an inch from the train’s fast-moving wheels as she protected her kids with her body.
At the same time, carriage after carriage rumbled overhead, according to heart-stopping cell phone footage published by the outlet.
After ten harrowing seconds, the train finally cleared the station and throngs of people dashed onto the tracks to help the woman and her children, the video showed.
Much to everyone’s astonished delight, the trio sprung up unharmed, although the woman’s infant was understandably crying after the brush with death.
The woman’s husband had boarded the train successfully moments before his wife and children fell, according to the news service.
When he realized what had happened, he jumped from the moving train and ran back to the station, NDTV reported.
The family was taken to the hospital for observation and were in stable condition, the outlet said.
