The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a long list of key free agents they wanted to re-sign before free agency this offseason, and they checked every single one of them off, including quarterback Baker Mayfield.
After making the Pro Bowl and leading the Bucs to a third straight NFC South title while playing on a cheap one-year deal last year, Mayfield was rewarded with a new three-year contract extension.
The deal was originally reported as being worth $100 million, but there are also incentives that could push that number higher.
Here are the details on those incentives, courtesy of Fox Sports’ Greg Auman:
Baker Mayfield’s new deal with the Bucs includes $5 million a year in incentives, split between regular-season stats and playoff success, much like his deal last year, which yielded $2.85 million in bonuses. (thread)

If Mayfield finishes in the top 10 in the NFL or top 5 in NFC in passer rating, TD passes, passing yards, yards/pass or completion %, that’s $500k each, for up to $2.5 million in stat-based incentives each season.

Mayfield also has up to $2.5 million/year in playoff incentives. He gets $500k for a first-round bye or winning a wild card game, another $750k for winning in divisional round, $500k for winning conference championship and $750k for winning Super Bowl. ($2.5m total for SB win)

Here’s hoping Mayfield hits all of them, because that will mean plenty more success for the Bucs, including a third Lombardi Trophy.
