OPINION:
We have labeled machine-generated answers or solutions artificial (“AI-generated Jesus, Satan offer customers opportunity to ask questions, interact on Bible topics,” web, Nov. 22).
The use of this term is meant to convey the sense that it is less valuable or not a replacement for human intelligence. However, the reality is that it soon will be indistinguishable from human thinking.
We should relabel it “nonhuman intelligence,” because that’s what it will be. Interaction with it will be no different than talking to another human. Scary, huh? You have been warned.
