OPINION:
As an immigrant from Bangladesh and a naturalized U.S. citizen, I think it is unacceptable that foreign nationals are getting together in groups and marching toward our country with the intention of crossing the southern border without any type of visa. The U.S. must not tolerate any migrant caravans. We must strictly enforce our immigration laws.
Approximately 1 million immigrants who follow American immigration laws get permanent residency to live and work in this country every year. Hundreds of thousands become naturalized U.S. citizens annually. While the U.S. welcomes legal immigrants, we cannot allow caravans of undocumented foreign nationals to violate American immigration laws.
Since 2021, with the Biden administration in power, we have seen the erosion of our nation’s immigration laws and the absence of border security. Our country’s sovereignty is being diminished at a rapid rate.
It is time to secure the southern border and prevent the unlawful entry of foreign nationals.
