Letter to the editor: End student exchange program now

The Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program is contributing to the political unrest on our college campuses (“Nation’s top law firms warn deans: Antisemitic law school grads won’t be hired,” web, Nov. 2).

The U.S. accepts unlimited students from China, the Middle East, and other countries and regions whose values are not aligned with ours or those of democracy in general.

These students come here and stay from kindergarten though graduate school. Many of the college protesters you see railing against Israel on the news these days are not even American citizens.

Also of great concern is that the exchange program creates a national security issue by inviting students from China, Russia, Iran, and other enemy countries. DHS is not only allowing illegal immigrants to come here with its absurd, dangerous open-border policy, it is also allowing millions of students to come legally. Once here, they indoctrinate others and hurt our country.
