It’s hard to complain about a unit that puts up 30 points and only punts twice, and that’s exactly what the Buccaneers did on Sunday.
Baker Mayfield’s connection to Mike Evans was on full display, with the two linking up for two touchdowns against the Jaguars. The team continues to facilitate its offense through its talented wideouts, with Evans getting great looks in the red zone and Chris Godwin always being a reliable third-down target. Additionally, WR Trey Palmer had a decent game himself, catching four passes for 42 yards. The passing game has been unlocked for a few weeks, and it looked some of the best it has against the Jags.
The run game wasn’t particularly impressive (particularly while doing it a lot to burn the clock), so that’s a bit of a step backward the team will look to address, but it wasn’t a prevailing factor when the game was already out of reach by the half. Overall, the performance was dominant and it’s something the Bucs will look to replicate if they’re able to get to the postseason (which should be an easy task if this keeps up).
