Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy officially retired earlier in the year, and now, he’s taking the next step in his post-football life.
NFL Network announced Tuesday that they’d brought on six more analysts ahead of the upcoming season, and McCoy was announced to be one of them. He’ll join former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel, former Stanford coach David Shaw, former NFL coach Leslie Fraizer, former NFL offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton and former NFL running back Robert Turin.
McCoy has done some analyst work before, appearing for FOX and NFL Network in a guest capacity, but his move here marks his first official foray into sports analysis. It’s currently unknown what McCoy’s exact roles will be, but the network announced that he and the five other hires will contribute on a “variety of NFL Network studio shows.”
