Former Bucs LB Devin White signs 1-year deal with Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are signing a one-year deal with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White, per multiple reports.

The No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, White has made his share of big plays for the Bucs over his five seasons, and played the best football of his career during their 2020 Super Bowl run.

But despite his stretches of impressive play, consistency continued to elude White in Tampa Bay, leading to the team allowing him to play out his fifth-year option without a long-term contract extension. White struggled with a foot injury during the 2023 season, and was eventually benched for K.J. Britt late in the year.

Now, he heads to Philly with a chance to prove he can become a more complete player, and potentially earn a long-term deal elsewhere next offseason.
