The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to play the Minnesota Vikings to open their 2023 regular season, and they may be without their first-round pick.
The Bucs released their injury report after practice Wednesday, and the most notable player who did not participate was Bucs DT Calijah Kancey. Kancey suffered a calf strain earlier in the offseason, and he was expected to heal up and be ready for the regular season — since he did not practice on Wednesday, that’s looking increasingly unlikely, though head coach Todd Bowles wouldn’t rule it out.
Here is the full injury report from the team given on Wednesday:
Ke’Shawn Vaughn appears on the report, but he isn’t injured — he took an unexcused leave from practice for a personal matter. OLB Anthony Nelson and S Kaevon Merriweather were limited participants and Antoine Winfield Jr., who is dealing with a calf injury, was a full participant in practice.
The Vikings only listed one player, linebacker Troy Dye, who was a full participant in their Wednesday practice.
