He might have beeen attending an NCAA Tournament game, but Caitlin Clark’s dad broke out a pro move.
Ahead of Clark and Iowa’s matchup with UConn in the Final Four at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, her dad, Brent, appeared to have snuck in snacks into his jacket pocket.
As ESPN’s cameras cut to Clark’s family in the crowd, they showed Brent munching on something and grabbing his hand into the front pocket of his Iowa Hawkeyes gear.
It’s not the first time Clark’s dad has made an appearance on TV this postseason.
In the opening game of Iowa’s March Madness run, Brent was seen visibly angry as Caitlin started getting testy with officials during a win over Holy Cross.
According to CBS Sports reporter Brad Crawford, Brent also could be heard saying, “Take her out, my gosh,” after Caitlin committed an offensive foul in her 27-point effort that day earlier in March.
But on Friday night, women’s basketball fans lauded the supportive father for his snack game.
“Caitlin Clark’s dad playing chess not checkers bringing his own snacks to the Iowa game,” wrote one X user.
“Caitlin Clark’s Dad with the biggest ‘parent who doesn’t want to pay stadium snack prices’ move in the world…..” wrote another.
“Just when you think Caitlin Clark’s father can’t grow his big dad energy even more, the pre-game coverage cuts to him fishing snacks out of an anorak hoodie. Absolute legend,” another X user chimed in.
While Brent was getting in his snacks in the stands, his daughter was held in check with just six points in the first half as Iowa trailed.
