Bucs Wire staff picks for Week 9 against the Texans

It’s been a rough scene in recent weeks for the Bucs offense. The defense has held its ground despite multiple injuries, however, Tampa Bay’s offense has mustered more than 20 points just once in its last five contests. By this point in the season, I think Bucs fans should begin to get accustomed to this scene; expect it from here on out. However, against a rookie quarterback and a weak Texans defense, I think Tampa Bay’s defense can create turnovers, which will lead to opportunities for their offense to score. Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud has looked great in his first year, but the Texans’ injury-riddled offensive line, which saw four players on the injury report this week, might not be able to provide sufficient protection. That, along with an inexperienced quarterback against a great pass-rush, isn’t a fruitful combination for an offense. I think the Bucs will take advantage Sunday and can get past the 20-point threshold they haven’t broken in over a month.

Bucs 21, Texans 17
