Just like every other team in the league, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently hosting some of the top prospects in the 2024 NFL draft class for official visits to the team facility.
One of the most recent visitors, Michigan defensive back Mike Sainristil, clearly enjoyed his time at One Buc Place.
“It went really well,” Sainristil told NFL insider Justin Melo. “They treated me like family. I loved everything about that visit. It kinda felt like the first time I visited the Michigan campus, to be honest with you. I interpret that in a great way.”
A converted wide receiver, Sainristil was a key member of the Wolverines’ undefeated team that took home the national title last season. His background on the offensive side of the ball has clearly helped him develop into a dynamic playmaker for the defense, a trait the Bucs would obviously hold in high regard.
The Bucs simply haven’t gotten enough splash plays out of their secondary in recent years, particularly from their corners. Sainristil does his best work in the slot, and his knack for creating big plays would be a huge boost to Tampa Bay’s back end.
Don’t be surprised if the Bucs target Sainristil on Day 2 of this year’s draft.
