The regular season is finally here, but betting odds don’t have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting of the 2023 season with a win.

Betting lines have opened for the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, and BetMGM has the Bucs as six-point underdogs against the Vikings. The spread for the game is 45.5 and the Vikings -250 on the money line, with the Bucs at +200.

Both the Vikings and the Bucs have won their last home opener. Tampa Bay beat the Dallas Cowboys 19-3 in Arlington, Texas in 2022, while Minnesota bested the Green Bay Packers at home 23-7. That win for the Vikings was one of the only games the Vikings won by more than one score, while the Bucs’ win over the Cowboys was the second time the team had beaten Dallas for a home opener in as many years.

The matchup should be a good test for Tampa Bay, as the Vikings can boast a high-scoring offense with quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receiver Justin Jefferson. It will also be the team’s first outing in three years without QB Tom Brady, with QB Baker Mayfield taking the reins.
