Bucs finish 24 of 32 teams in 2024 NFLPA Team Report Cards

The annual NFLPA Report Cards were released Wednesday, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn’t come out too favorably.

The NFLPA has players rate numerous categories for their respective teams on a report card grading scale on things such as ownership, head coaches, team facilities, travel and more, and the Bucs came in ranked 24th of 32 teams. While that is two spots up from their 26th ranking in 2023, it still puts them among the bottom of the league.

There were a few things that Bucs players were fond of. One bright spot was Todd Bowles, who the team ranked B-. Buccaneers players were also fond of the team’s nutrition, the training staff, the training room and weight room, with those all coming in with B, B, B and B- grades respectively. There were also a few categories that were harshly graded, however. Both treatment of facilities and team travel were given F grades, and ownership under the Glazers was given a D-.

Here is what the NFLPA’s website had to say about the Bucs’ report card grades:

Club owner Joel Glazer ranks 29th across the league when it comes to the question about a perceived willingness to invest in the facilities, and the reason for assessment is reflected in the data collected across categories. The players described the locker room as “unclean” and “smelly,” and they even cited seeing bugs consistently in the showers. Respondents also described the team sauna as “dirty,” “small” and “broken down.” Younger players must have roommates on work travel, unless they pay the team more than $1,750 for their own room each season. They do have a daycare room on gamedays, but charge players’ families $90 per child, which most other teams offer for free.

The Bucs would do well to try and fix some of these issues that players have been having, especially since a few complaints carried over from the 2023 survey.
