The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bringing back a familiar face to their defense, agreeing to terms with free-agent safety Jordan Whitehead on a two-year deal, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
A fourth-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft out of Pitt, Whitehead spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Bucs, and played a key role in their 2020 Super Bowl champion squad.
Now, after two seasons with the Jets, Whitehead is returning to a team and a defense he knows well, bringing his hard-hitting playing style and big-play presence back to Todd Bowles’ aggressive scheme.
