The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have their starting quarterback, as Baker Mayfield signed a new three-year contract extension on the eve of free agency that kept him from hitting the open market.
After signing a cheap one-year deal in free agency last offseason, Mayfield responded by having the best season of his NFL career so far, leading the Bucs to a third straight division title and a fourth straight trip to the playoffs.
Mayfield made the new deal official last week, and had a message for Bucs fans now that he’ll be calling Tampa Bay home for a little while longer:
